Delakota – The Rock

In about ‘95, just as I was gently easing into some vaguely electronic music for the first time with Saint Etienne and Dubstar, this album popped up. It wasn’t very good and they’ve not done too much since but this is one of those songs that has stuck in my head ever since. Laid back, no noisy guitars and no radio-friendly chorus, but a nice pace and a laid back beat and, ooh is that the time? Gin for me, I think! That sort of song.

[Disclaimer: I am actually on holiday at the moment, probably fucking up my brother's wedding by swearing too much in the best man's speech, so it's all a bit minimal at the moment. Normal service will be resumed after we return on about the 25th July]

Ha! I remember Delakota. I’m sure I saw them once back in the late 90s too. They were alright I think. What’s the tune? C’mon Cincinatti – yeah, that’s it.
Oh man, thank you for posting this! me and my brother were racking our brains trying to remember this track and then couldn’t find any place to buy an mp3. Used to play this over and over and over and over again on 12¨. A killer hidden gem! One thing though the mp3 is REALLY quiet, had to boast it in peak.
