Can't ignore it? Hahaha, if only I could ignore it. I can certainly call it shit though, because this is absolutely trivial dross and deserves to be called out. Who invested in this one-dimensional garbage, anyway, and is there a hope in hell that their massive marketing outlay has been recouped through sales? Not if there's any justice in the world.

If they were actually talented, I would be less likely to bash them.

And don't give me this 'times are changing' bullshit. This is not an age question - there was this sort of shit around when I was sixteen too, and I didn't like it then. Being shallow and having no artistic judgment is not explained away or justified by pointing out that you are young.

Terrible review. TImes are changing and so is music, deal with it. Just because you don't agree with everyone else doesn't mean you have the right to completely and utterly bash three people who are actually talented. You try and release a no.1 album and then criticise The Hoosiers. You can't ignore what the public buy.

Possibly my favourite blog post of the year. I'm reminded of the Family Guy episode in which Meg's boyfriend gives her a Maroon 5 CD because she liked "terrible music".

Oi Toad! No dissing Kelly. Otherwise, another of your lovely reviews. I particularly enjoyed "they peddle a sort of spineless, neutered Argos Catalogue pop that carries all the emotional impact of a half-eaten Pot Noodle"

Honestly, Husker Du would make XFM better. In fact, playing the Best of Frank Sinatra would make them better. It's turned into the most demoralising radio station in the world. At least the other ones don't pretend to be good.

Is it my imagination or has the XFM playlist shrunk to four tracks in endless rotation? Oh for the days when you got three Husker Du tracks in a row (reaches for dentures)
