Amelie is one of the few score-centric soundtracks that I love (along with Somewhere In Time & Interview with the Vampire), and my Irish boy loves The Fountain. My absolute favorite soundtrack is John Cameron Mitchell's Hedwig & The Angry Inch, because it works well with the content of the film but is also a solid album on its own. I adore the soundtrack to Once, but it actually hurt my enjoyment of the film because the dialogue and plot lacked the intense emotion of the songs.

For the record: the remastered "Forrest Gump" soundtrack does have The Doors on it.

It's very true that most soundtracks are nothing more than disjointed compilation albums but every now and then you find one were all the songs work together somehow. My favorite example of this is the soundtrack from "Naked In New York." I don't know why, but it just works somehow.

Thanks for all the posts!
