The Mystery Jets – Young Love

Tim over at The Daily Growl wrote a post recently called Whatever Happened to the Mystery Jets. He, like I, paid very little attention to them when the first round of buzz was flitting about the internet and so when he heard recent material he, like I, was somewhat surprised to suddenly realise that they were really good.
For vinyl fans then, have a look at this: a new single called Young Love is coming out quite soon, and can be pre-ordered from here. It’s a decent indie-pop song until the rather passive-sounding female vocal comes along, from Laura Marling no less, at which point it becomes a bloody good indie-pop song. So enjoy Flakes, their excellent publicity track and perhaps you, like I, will be a little less dismissive of really promising bands in future.
That is all.
Mystery Jets – Flakes

Ah, glad ye like it too my good man. Looking forward to hearing more of their new stuff.
Well they’re playing up here in the reasonably near future, but it’s a tenner. Throw in the booking fee and it seems a little pricey for taking a punt on a group I don’t know that much about. I’m wavering, but I’m not sure I’m going to go.
