That Clock isn’t on Leith Walk anymore.

They decided to replace it with a gazillion traffic cones.

I thought the clock was slightly more aesthetically appealing, but who am I to judge.

Also, if you miss Emily Scott on Thursday (in favour of Willard Grant or maybe the Kays Lavelle gig at Henry’s?), she’s playing in Elvis Shakespeare (the music/book shop on Leith Walk) for free on Sunday afternoon – with Blueflint and a whole host of other ladies. (It’s part of ladyfest, you see.)

The Elvis Shakespeare gigs are always real nice.

Also, Super Adventure Club are playing Henry’s on Monday. And since this is turning into a “things you’ve missed in Edinburgh this week” listing, I felt it appropriate to mention it.

May 14 is funny band name day. I giggled.

The Mae Shi will either be the most fun show or the most godawful show you’ve ever seen – they’re spazzy and fun, but I went to another show of theirs recently where they started pulling audience members under a sheet to form a big ghost sort of thing, and though it was funny the music was eventually sort of lost.
