Samantha Crain was a fucking peach. The evening was only swpoiled by my companion for the gig – more of which will be disseminated later, as I intend to file a proper review of gig along with the Builders’ show soonest.

The Builders & The Butchers review will be with you soon – have had so little time to properly skinpeel after a mighty bad sunburn let alone write up a glowing appreciation of their clattering brilliance.

I know, I know.

But I think the gig at Henry’s on Wednseday is worth a mention.

Not least as it’s the last ever Hollow Heart Parlour – which has been running for two years now and has put on some very good shows, but also it’s a rare chance to see Jess Bryant – who I believe used to be something of a regular in Edinburgh but has since moved to London.

And since you seem to enjoy all this alt.folky nonsense that’s bandied about these days, I’d say it’s worth a look.
