Don't a lot of celebrities with images to maintain, but depleted bank accounts often decide to go and do adverts outside their primary territory?

Do they show the British instant coffee ads featuring George Clooney in the USA?

Wasn't that the basic premise of that movie from a couple of years ago with Bill Murray set in Japan? Where Western stars go and suckle on the corporate boob on the other side of the world to avoid harming their kudos back home..

I suppose this was inevitable once he'd shagged Patsey Kensit.

It's frighteningly close to tax time here in the US. My guess is that Iggy had a choice between sell the summer house, go on tour, bend over for Satan. And it turns out Satan, while an unpleasant boss and head of the army of darkness, is a very considerate and gentle lover.

I've not seen the TV advert. I can't even bring myself to press play.

But I saw his face on a bill board poster on the way to work last week.

I very nearly shed a tear.

James Newell Osterberg, Jr. (born April 21, 1947)...starred in 16 films including...Coffee and Cigarettes (opposite Tom Waits, in the third segment of the film, "Somewhere in California"), and an upcoming movie biopic about Pop's early career with the Stooges, The Passenger is coming out soon. He's not having any part of it. (all cribbed from Wiki).

He's despicable, always was, always will be.

i felt the same way when i heard his carnival cruise sell out. in an interview iggy justified the carnival add by saying that since the song wasnt originally created for an add it was ok to be used as an add (i felt a similar sadness when i heard a grandaddy grove in a car add). i think the reason is $$ - plain and simple. id like to say id have enough integrity to not do the same but ive never been offered lots of $$ to do something as simple as make a commercial. however, he must be aware of how his fans would react (especially his fans). and what bugs me is that he doesnt seem to acknowledge the disappointment they might feel (the fact that he tried to justify the carnival add makes me think he knows deep down how we might feel but then decides to do it anyhow). years ago when many of the independent labels where cutting deals with majors i had heard that matador records but an add out saying something like; is it still selling out if we use the money for drugs. i never saw the add myself so dont know if it was true. if iggy or grandaddy is using the money for drugs id feel a whole lot better.
love the blog.
