Martin Carr went off to do his Brave Captain thingy…

He’s now doing music under his own name & it’s fucking lovely. West Coast surf-country. He’s got this business idea thing where he’s asking people/fans to donate ££ towards the production of an album (I think he set a budget of £20,000 or something to be rasied in order to fund it) – & they get an album/a credit/whatever in return. He’s got about £5,000 so far (if I recall) & I view it like that time when people tried that odd pixel advertising thing where they sold space by the pixel on the front of the cover of the album & their space was used to advertise themselves or business or whatever. I think I’m remembering that right.

Not entirely sure if I think its ‘the way to go’, but it certainly means that the damn thing could take years to come out (or never at all), which is rightly frustrating. But I guess it gets people to his shows to fill the meantime.
