Given driving conditions here (eg, narrow streets with cars parked down both sides), drivers have to spend a lot of time stopping to let each other pass, nevermind cyclists. It seems to breed a slightly more tolerant frame of mind than Australia's "designed and built for cars" approach to urban planning. Shonagh – Indeed.
