NEWS! Meursault, Faith Eliott, Modern Studies and Virgin of the Birds
Well apart from this rather spiffy new site (massive thanks to Andy Lobban, who designed and built it), we have a ton of stuff to announce at the moment so I figured a handy list of bullet points would be best, and then I can expand on everything in a bit more detail in the next few days.
Meursault are bloody well back. Yep, I know I know, but we have a comeback album I Will Kill Again due in February next year, an EP out before Christmas and a comeback show booked at the awesome Summerhall for the 8th October – tickets here.
Virgin of the Birds second album out in October. More wry, occasionally sad and occasionally sarcastic lounge pop gems from Seattle, Secret Kids is another absolutely great piece of work from our pal Jon Rooney. Keep an eye out for him at the Song, by Toad Christmas Party on the first weekend in December. Pre-order the album here.
Modern Studies album Swell to Great out on Monday. It’s gorgeous, and we’ve had an amazing response, from Spain, Portugal and Italy, to Mojo and Q closer to home.
We’re getting a good few gigs planned for The Happiness Hotel before the end of the year. As well as Faith, we have the return of old pal Eef Barzelay from Clem Snide, and we’re talking to Tim the Mute and The Shivers about coming back too, although nothing is finalised for those shows just yet.
Split 12″ Vol.5 will be out before the end of the year too – remember the one we recorded in New York in collaboration with Gold Flake Paint? That one. It’s fucking great.
