Contact Mr Toad

Letter, by Toad

If you’re looking for the Rough Guide to Self-releasing an Album, it is here.

If you’d like to get in contact, my name is just Matthew, so there’s no need to bother with all this Mr. Toad business. The easiest way to contact me is by email:

toad a/t songbytoad.com

If you’re a band wanting to send me some bits and pieces then the best way (by far) is to email me a link to a BandCamp, SoundCloud, YouTube or MySpace page where I can hear your music.  Ideally, one-click = music, because my inbox is a bit overwhelming these days.  If there’s an album or an EP you’d like me to review I much prefer downloadable digital copies.  Again, Bandcamp and Soundcloud are good for things like this, but a zip file via something like Rapidshare or YouSendIt is also a good way to send things through.

Please don’t try sending me direct messages on Twitter, Facebook, Soundcloud or anything other than email though – I can barely stay on top of my inbox as it is, and if you try using some other way it will almost certainly just get lost.

Also, please never send me mp3 attachments, because they clog up my inbox something chronic.

If you’d rather post some stuff then get in touch and once I’ve established that you’re no more than averagely bonkers, I’ll send you my postal address.

Oh, and do me a favour.  I don’t want to be needlessly picky about this, but please don’t tell me ‘how much you love my blog’.  I know that in all probability it’s not at all true, and I honestly don’t mind.  I send out PR material for Song, by Toad Records myself, and I know you need to reach a lot more than just the blogs or radio stations you yourself happen to listen to or read in order to make any sort of an impression.  Just send me the music, it’s absolutely fine, I do not need to be flattered.
